What is schizophrenia or schizophrenia?

Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder in which people abnormally interpret reality; It leads to a combination of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disturbed thinking and behavior that impairs daily functioning. People with schizophrenia require lifelong treatment, and early treatment helps control symptoms before serious complications occur.[1]

Although schizophrenia is not as common as other major mental illnesses, it can be the most serious chronic mental illness.[4]

Is schizophrenia dangerous?

Most people with schizophrenia are not violent, they usually prefer to withdraw and be left alone, but sometimes people with mental illness may do dangerous or violent things, often as a result of losing touch with reality and feeling threatened in some way by their surroundings.

It is likely that the person with schizophrenia will be a danger to himself, as suicide is the first cause of premature death among people with this disease [4].

Schizophrenia and marriage

When a person is diagnosed with schizophrenia, it is possible for even stable partnerships to become strained or for couples to break up entirely. "Schizophrenia makes it difficult for people to form close bonds," says Dost Öngür, clinical director of the American Schizophrenia Research Program. There are some tips for dealing with a partner with schizophrenia, including: [5]

Both partners should communicate with each other, as this can help people with schizophrenia find the support they need.

When someone is diagnosed with a disease such as schizophrenia, their loved ones should try to show empathy, as the best thing to say is, "I love you and I care about you... and this disease doesn't change how I feel about you."

The person with schizophrenia must accept treatment. If the condition is left untreated, it will lead to serious problems. Here, the partner must convince the schizophrenic patient of the need for treatment.

Caring for a loved one with schizophrenia can be a tiring and frustrating task at times, but patience and endurance are required to reach the best stages of treatment.
